OBJECTIVE
Overdose survivors may be uncomfortable having conversations about substance use, harm reduction, or overdose in front of their family or law enforcement officers. An effective outreach strategy employed by many POST programs is to create space by heading to another room, offering to follow up in a different location, or asking the survivor to talk outside of the residence. This infographic was developed to illustrate different approaches to promoting private discussions. It can be distributed to outreach partners as an educational tool.
